Jason Dwayne Koen

Jason Dwayne Koen, 48, of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston Salem, North Carolina.

Jason was born on August 26, 1977, in Mercer County, West Virginia, to Jimmy Dean Koen and Connie Mae Brooks Koen.

He was employed with Aramark for nearly 20 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hiking, fishing, camping, caving, kayaking, and especially spending time with his beloved pup, Alexis.

Jason is survived by his wife, Kathy Koen; two sons, Ezra Koen (Cynthia), Morgan Koen (Danica); a daughter, Tessa Chaffin (Hunter); his parents, Jimmy and Connie Koen; his brother, Daniel Koen (Heather); two sisters, Crystal Koen, April Odell (William); five grandchildren, Landen, Graysen, Titus, Abby, Bella; his in-laws, Danny and Deloris Norris; and three brother in-laws, Kenny Norris, David Norris, and Douglas Bolton.

The family will have a visitation from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Affordable Funerals and Cremations of Davidson County Chapel, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00pm.

    Breaks my heart to hear of the passing of Jason, he grew up with my son and spent a lot of time at my house. He was a wonderful young man, that loved with all his heart..He was a wonderful family man and a wonderful friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.. Jason, you go to your heavenly home and rest now, your job on earth is done.

    I worked with Jason, he was always a great friend and coworker I know he loved being a husband and Dad I remember when he was expecting his youngest daughter he was so excited. I truly know he will be missed and I will be praying & believing that God our Father will bring peace, understanding, togetherness for each heart healing and preparing each path to look on God memories & love that helps us get through our great loss of a amazing Son,husband,Dad, brother, uncle and friend God speed to your broken hearts

    My good friend whom I worked at Amamark side by side every day for years he was smart a great person to work with and and avid reader he loved books .every Monday we would talk about the walking dead and guess who was going to get infected the next week Fly high my friend
