Obituary For Barbara Mae Mathis Jarvis
Barbara Mae Mathis Jarvis, 74, of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Lexington Medical Center.
Barbara was born on March 29, 1951 in Swain County, North Carolina, to the late Burt Lewis Mathis and Agnes Tharp Mathis.
She was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Lexington Medical Center on Unit A, until her retirement in 2016.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Dale Jarvis; a brother, Arnold Mathis; and two sisters, Mary Davis and Phyllis Crotts.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Dale Jarvis; son, Ricky Lee Jarvis; two daughters, Sherry Kay Thompson (Ricky), Kittie Dawn Presnell; two brothers, Ronnie Mathis, Donald Mathis; four sisters, Lisa Yates, Delores Dumas, Linda Gardner, Sandra Walser; four grandchildren, Kristin Dawn Davis, James Martin Presnell, Nathan Thompson, Devan Sink; and two great-grandchildren, Xander Davis and Xaiden Davis.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 2:00pm at Yadkin Baptist Church in Salisbury, North Carolina. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, at the church prior to the funeral. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.

Ann Allen Collins Barbara was a loving and caring lady ❤️ and she will be missed by everyone who knew her .She had went through a lot and but she loved her husband and children with all her heart ❤️ But one day we will meet her again until then beautiful lady Rest in Peace 🙏
