Obituary For George Wayne Porter

George Wayne Porter, 61, of Thomasville, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the Hinkle Hospice House.

George was born on February 18, 1965, in Davidson County, North Carolina, to the late Bobby Wade Porter and Glenda Jane Barker Porter.

He was a member of Jackson Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sylvia Burcham.

Survivors include his wife, Lora Porter; three daughters, Stacey Emmons (Darrell), Kimberly Porter, Brittany Richardson (Josh); a half sister, Mary Lee; and ten amazing grandchildren, Summer, Taylor, Tyler, April, Josh, Willie, Bentley, Hayden, Zade, and Oliver.

George was a caring and selfless person. He leaves behind his family and friends who love him deeply and will miss him unconditionally. We will hold his memories and love in our hearts and will cherish them forever.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 5:00pm at Jackson Creek Baptist Church, with Pastor Josh Kepley, officiating.

Following the service the family will receive friends and family at the residence.
