Frederick Swindal Jr Lindsay was my best friend from UNC NROTC. We roomed together for 6 weeks of Navy ROTC camp in Chapel Hill. Lindsay was awarded a sword for being the top midshipman as voted on by the NROTC staff upon graduation and commissioning in May 1971. I know he loved his family and was a great friend of lost pets and shelters in central N Carolina. He was a great UNC fan. This is all shocking to me. I only found out today. Words are tough to come by right now.
