Obituary For Margaret Prather Messick

Margaret Prather Messick loved mother, grandmother, and sister passed away on September 1st 2025 after her battle with cancer at the age of 69 in her home in Thomasville North Carolina. She was born on April 9th 1956 in Martinsburg West Virginia to a large family with 5 siblings Elizabeth, Ronnie, Lewis, Perry, Darrel, and Essie.

She was survived by her four children Phyllis Franks, April Messick, John Messick, and Christopher Messick. She was also survived by her 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She was proceeded by her Mother Phyllis Stanley, brother Perry Prather, and her daughter Kathleen Prather DeHart.

She loved her family and pets more than anything and she will be greatly missed!

I will think of Margaret looking at the stars as we used to lay in the yard and talking about our loved ones , when she lived in Hagerstown, MD as my neighbor.. You are now ones of those stars my Beautiful friend.. And you will be greatly missed until we meet again..❤️
