Obituary For Pamela Sue Jones Ellington

Pamela “Pam” Jones Ellington born, September 20, 1958, passed away on August 7, 2026, at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC surrounded by her family at the age of 67.

She was the beloved youngest daughter of the late Roland “Pete” Franklin Jones and Mertie Belle Smith Jones.

A woman of strong faith, Pam was a devoted member of Central Baptist Church. She dedicated almost 25 years of service to serving the people and communities of Cracker Barrel. Where she worked at the Mt Airy, Lexington, and Salisbury stores. She was also a part of the Red Shirt Training Team for Cracker Barrel where she had the opportunity to travel the United States and open new stores for several years as well. Pam had a servant’s heart and would always try to help others. She loved to make people smile and laugh. Other than family being one of the most important things to her, Pam was an avid Carolina Tarheels, Dallas Cowboys, and Atlanta Braves fan. Having a strong family history in the US Military, Pam has always had a strong love and support for our Veterans and Military.

Left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Mandy Workman Hedrick (Bobby) her sisters, Della Faye Yates (Carl) and Ann Nilo (Jim) and her loved grandchildren, Meredith Hedrick and Landon Hedrick (Summer) and great grandson, Colton. Also, a special friend Cindy Bowman (Allen).

In addition to her parents, Pam was preceded in death by her brother, David Jones.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Central Baptist Church on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 6:00pm with Pastor Jeff Perdue, Officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 6:00pm, one hour prior to the service, at the church.

My best memories of Pam were her hugs and how deeply she loved her family. We always picked right up where we left off I miss her so much. Mandy and family, there never was any doubt her love for each one of you. I pray for God's comfort and His peace to hold and cradle each one of you in the hard days. I do find some comfort in knowing she is still giving even though we had to say bye. That is so Pam! Always putting others first. ❤️💔❤️
