Obituary For Pauline Frances Tobias

Pauline "Polly" Frances Tobias, 68, passed away surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind countless memories, stories, and more than a few perfectly timed sarcastic remarks. Polly was quick-witted, fiercely independent, and gifted with a sense of humor that could turn an ordinary conversation into a story retold for years.

She had a talent for making people laugh when they needed it most and for telling the truth when others might have avoided it. She rarely missed an opportunity for a clever comeback, and she never let life become more serious than it absolutely had to be.

To her family, she was more than her humor. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, friend, confidante, and source of strength. She celebrated our successes, carried us through our struggles, and taught us that resilience and laughter often belong together. She was hardworking, adaptable, and never afraid of a new adventure. Her family often joked that she had a nomadic spirit, as she moved frequently throughout her life, always ready for whatever came next.

Among the many things she loved were Disney, her cats, and, above all, her grandchildren. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family. She celebrated their accomplishments, shared in their adventures, and created memories that will be cherished forever. Her absence leaves an immeasurable space in our lives. We will miss her voice, her wisdom, her perfectly timed sarcasm, and the way she could make us laugh even in difficult moments. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that the love, humor, and memories she gave us remain.

Polly is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years, Marty Tobias; her children, Richard Miller, Nicole Morton-Templeton and husband Logan, Justin Morton and significant other Randi Quarles, and Jay Tobias and wife Keyonna; her grandchildren, Mason Morton and Addi Morton; and her sisters, Maggie Bayers, Mary Leitch, and Martha Carrick.

While we mourn the profound loss of her presence, we are grateful for the laughter, love, and memories she gave us. In true Polly fashion, if she could see us all gathered together talking about her today, she would probably smile and remind us, "I used to like you."
