Obituary For Ronald "Bubba" Forest Howe

Ronald Forest Howe, 71, born on June 2, 1955 in Petersburg, VA and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at his home.

Bubba lived a life of joy, laughter, and love. His laugh brought joy to all who knew him. He loved music like Bob Segar and John Cougar Mellencamp was some of his favorites. He loved motorcycles and anyone with a badge they were his hero’s. His smile brighten the room and his famous line was they call me “Bubba Love” everywhere he went everyone loved Bubba.

He loved Dr. Pepper and chocolate pie and every family gathering he always was the one saying can I have some more drink. His disability didn’t define him, it made you look within to see what you could be doing better. He loved his mom with all his heart and long to see her again and now they are reunited together in Heaven.

He loved going out to eat with his family and going to dollar tree for sunglasses, gold chains, watches, and happy birthday balloons! Bubba always felt like it was his birthday no matter the date or the time. He loved eagle shirts and anything to do with Harley Davidson. He always showed off his tattoos that his sister Judy took him to get and everyone knew how his mom felt about that. Bubba sure was proud of them.

He was the son of the late Forest Earl Howe and the late Kathryn Mattox Howe for Bubba was his mother’s pride and joy. He is also preceded in death by his sister Judy Guiterrez and his maternal grandparents Levi and wife Gracie Mattox and two nephews William Ray Bess and William Dean Evans.

Bubba is survived by his sister Sonja and husband James Branham of Lexington, NC and his brother Michael and wife Bonnie Howe of Lexington, NC, his nieces Tonya Branham and Kimberly and her husband Ricky Thompason and Crystal Rios, his nephew Paul and wife Julie Evans. He has a host of great nieces and nephews and many other family, friends, and caregivers that loved him dearly.

Twin Brooks and Howell Center was his place of residence for the last 40 years of his life. He received the best care at their hands. The Howell Center loved Bubba as if he was there brother a love that showed every time you walked through their doors. The hugs, fist bumps, and the joy will be a memory I carry with me forever and always. Thank you on behalf of our family for your quality of care for Bubba. He was blessed to have you and so were we.
