Obituary For Ronald Dale Gardner Sr.

Ronald Dale Gardner Sr., 66 years old, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina.

Ronald was born on December 15, 1958, in Davidson County, North Carolina.

He was of the Baptist faith and served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corp. He loved going out on his boat and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and making everyone laugh.

Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Stevenson Gardner Jr.; his mother, Opal Miller; a daughter, Mandi Moree; a sister, Crystal Miller; stepfather, Jimmy Miller; and stepmother, Patty Gardner.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Mathis Gardner; two sons, Ronald Dale Gardner Jr., Micheal Lee Gardner; three daughters, Lori Gardner Martin (Troy), Hope Facemyer (Greg), Traci Cleary “Byrd”; four brothers, Lee Miller (Amber), Trevor Gardner (Linda), Richard Gardner (Linda), Steve Gardner (Jane); and sixteen grandchildren.

The family will have a Celebration of Life service, on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 9:00am, at the York Hill River Access, 1212 Wilcox Way, Linwood, NC 27299.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be made to one of the following charities; St Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.

    Douglas Barnhill My name is Douglas barnhill Ronald Gardner was my best friend for about 40 years we went through a lot together as friends I will miss him he treated me more like family than as a friend his whole family likes me he will be missed I hope he is in a better place now

    Robert Houpe I had not seen Ron since we worked at the Salisbury Plant. The times I was around him, he could make me laugh with his witty sense of humor and spirit. My thoughts, prayers, and sincere condolences are with the family during this difficult time of loss.
