Obituary For Rosie Jean Sexton Hill

Rosie Jean Sexton Hill, 79, of Trinity, North Carolina, passed away on April 30, 2026.

Rosie was born in Dante, Virginia, on March 14, 1947, a daughter of the late John and Maggaline Sexton. A woman of strong work ethic and dedication, she spent many years serving her community through her work at Kmart and later at Walmart, from which she retired.

Rosie’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a natural caregiver who found her deepest fulfillment in looking after her loved ones, always putting the needs of others before her own. When she wasn’t spending time with her family, she could often be found lost in a good book or enjoying a day of shopping.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Havery Swain Hill, and her parents.

Rosie is survived by her daughter, Stephanie DeHart and husband Vernon; two sons, Michael Hill and wife Jacquelyn, and Brian Hill and wife Lynn; two brothers, Marvin Sexton and Paul Sexton; and two sisters, Elizabeth Damron and husband Grover and Sandra Randall. She also leaves behind three granddaughters, Kendra, Kalee, and Kelsey; three step-granddaughters; and eight great-grandchildren, along with many friends and extended family members who will miss her dearly.

A memorial service to celebrate Rosie’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Full Gospel Free Will Holiness Church, located at 1021 W. Holly Hill Rd, Thomasville, NC.
