Caleb Anderson Sharpe III
8/5/1981 - 3/5/2026
Caleb Anderson Sharpe III, known to all as Cale, was born August 5, 1981, and passed away on March 5, 2026. He leaves behind family and friends whose lives he changed, and who will miss him deeply.
Caleb was a creator at heart, drawn to art in all its forms. He was especially at home at the Dungeons & Dragons table, where he built intricate worlds and welcomed both new and old friends alike. He loved painting miniatures, making scenes come alive, and sharing his passion for storytelling. Cale’s quick wit, love of dark humor, and taste for horror movies and hard rock ensured that every gathering was memorable. He was the kind of person who could make a newcomer feel like they belonged from the very first game, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh.
His greatest pride and joy was his child, Possum Sharpe, and Possum’s partner, Caden Bailey. He is also survived by his siblings, Dana Sharpe-Pruitt and Andy Sharpe, as well as other family and a wide circle of friends who became like family through shared adventures, both real and imagined. To his friends, Cale was a steadfast presence; someone whose door (and heart) were always open. He had a way of making others braver, more creative, and more themselves. For many, he was a teacher, a confidant, and a brother in all but name.
Cale was remembered for his honesty, his unwavering kindness, and a stubborn streak that never let you forget exactly where you stood. He was everyone’s best friend, the sort of person you could count on for a late-night conversation, help with a project, or a much-needed joke. Whether he was welcoming new players to the table, planning future adventures, or simply being there when he was needed most, Cale’s presence left an indelible mark.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2026, with details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Cale’s memory by rolling a d20, watching a favorite horror film, or creating something in his name.
He was loved as a friend, a brother, and as family. His stories and the love he gave will endure.
From the moment we first insulted each other, we were best friends. We talked every day, all day. Now I have to fill that silence and that is so hard. Cale was the funniest, smartest, most stubborn man I have ever know. My life is better for knowing him. I miss him so much!
